The Coca-Cola Company Announces Recipients of 2011-2012 Goizueta Scholars Fund ...

ATLANTA-( Business Wire )-

Five deserving children of associates of The Coca-Cola Company have been named to the 2011-2012 class of Goizueta Scholars. Established in 2000 at the personal bequest of the late Roberto C. Goizueta, Chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company from 1981-1997, The Goizueta Scholars Fund awards undergraduate scholarships of up to $25,000 per student. Awards are renewable for three additional years or until the student earns a bachelor’s degree. Students are selected on the basis of their academic achievement, community service, work experience, career goals and financial need.

During the past 11 years, 77 students have received Goizueta Scholars Fund awards, totaling more than $3.7 million. This year’s recipients are:

Parth Patel , a graduate of South Forsyth High School, Cumming, Ga. Parth will attend Pomona College in Claremont, Calif., and pursue a degree in Biology. He is the son of Dinesh Patel, a Lab Technician based in Atlanta. Natalie Alamo , a graduate of Superior High School in Patillas, Puerto Rico. Natalie will attend the University of Puerto Rico: Cayey University College in Cayey, Puerto Rico and pursue a degree in Psychology. She is the daughter of Cesar Alamo Lebroi, a Manufacturing Coordinator at Caribbean Refrescos, Inc. in Cidra, Puerto Rico. Danielle Davis, a graduate of Prairie Ridge High School, in Crystal Lake, Ill. Danielle will attend Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. and pursue a degree in Technical Theatre. She is the daughter Karen Davis, an Administrative Assistant based in Shaumburg, Ill. Amanda Chastain, a graduate of Landmark Christian School, in Fairburn, Ga. Amanda will attend Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn. and pursue a degree in Education. She is the daughter of David Chastain, a Production Technician II, based in Atlanta. Kristine O’Keefe , a graduate of Mount Rainer High School, Des Moines, Wash. Kristine will attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University: Prescott Campus in Prescott, Ariz. and pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering.

Auditions to be held August 23rd and 24th at COCA (525 Trinity Avenue,
University City) for admittance into both the Junior (middle-school
students) and Senior (high-school students) COCA Theatre Companies.

The COCA Theatre Company (CTC) is an advanced training and performance
company designed as a pre-professional training ground. CTC members
train weekly with lead instructor Andrew Neiman and Director of
Theatre Brooke Edwards in addition to a variety of other COCA faculty
members as well as visiting theatre professionals. CTC's purpose is
two fold: First and foremost, to build an ensemble of team players
fully committed to developing their vocal, physical and emotional
instruments; and, as a natural bi-product of cultivating their
individual and collective talents, to produce outstanding (original)
theatrical performances. In addition to participating in weekly
training, all CTC members are expected to enroll in either the Junior
or Senior Master Acting classes.
