Cheshire Playgardens creates luxury for the family
Two Cheshire businessmen have launched a new company creating the ultimate in deluxe garden living areas for adults and children.
From a Tudor-style playhouse with an iPod sound system to a lawn that never needs mowing or a contemporary outdoor office, Cheshire Playgardens aims to design and create luxurious living areas for the whole family to enjoy.
Andy Snell, 37, and Mike Bischof, 36, who both live and work in Alderley Edge, have been supplying outdoor play equipment and furniture to schools since 1998, having installed nearly 4,000 playgrounds throughout the UK through their first business, Pentagon Sports.
Prompted by public spending cuts, the pair decided to turn their hands towards producing luxurious additions to people’s homes. The pods, for instance, start at around £15,000. The pair have created some structures in the past year for clients using the team at Pentagon, but decided to brand it and set up a separate enterprise. They will use the same team of engineers to create the bespoke designs for Cheshire Playgardens.
“We already have an experienced team in place to create high-end luxury play areas and with the tightening of the public belt we wanted to explore other avenues,” said Andy.
“Teachers and mums often commented on our work at school playgrounds, asking us if we were able to install structures for homes as well.
“As we got more enquiries the concept for bespoke play areas was born.
“We build everything from tree-houses, gazebos, contemporary garden pods and even provide luxury artificial grass. We are able to design, install and offer a full project management service including landscaping so the structure looks right and fits into the type of garden it’s being installed in. And, of course, no two designs are the same. All our products are bespoke.”
Garden offices are also a popular feature as more and more people work from home, Andy added. The business was officially launched at Mike’s house, where they have samples of some of their structures. Guests included mums, relocation agents for footballers, business owners and events organisers.
Andy added: “We’re lucky enough to be surrounded by some of the finest homes and gardens in the country here in Cheshire and have had a growing number of requests to create children’s play spaces and outdoor features that are unique in design and match the quality of the homes here.
